When we began, I don't think any of us could have imagined that building a visually beautiful community health promotion tool would take such time, persistence and patience. But on reflection, it is these challenging elements that have brought a lot of the "goodness" to the project.
Had we not needed to seek out and struggle to raise the funds for construction - we would be poorer for the wonderful community that has grown from the process.
Had we not needed to get out into our community to raise awareness of the project, we would be without the hundreds of diverse people we have met, stories we have heard and connections we have made.
Had we not been so meticulous in our planning and patient in our search for the right person to construct our vision, we may not have partnered with our awesome local trades.
It has taken a lot to get to this point - but it will be so worth it when complete.
We have the final stage of honing and sealing to go (and then our artwork and landscaping) but check out the exciting progress that started 2017 off with a decent dose of excitement for our 'labyrinth community':
